Bart Johnson, best known for his role in High School Musical and brother-in-law to actress Blake Lively, has issued a public apology for making “unkind" remarks seemingly directed at Justin Baldoni. The controversy stems from a now-deleted social media post where Johnson allegedly criticised Baldoni’s persona and appearance, including his signature man bun.

Johnson, who is married to Lively’s sister Robyn Lively, took to X on January 28 to express regret over his previous comments. “Anytime I’ve said anything unkind about someone I’ve regretted it. Fortunately that’s almost never and definitely not when I’m at my best," the 54-year-old actor shared. He added, “Even in times where it might ‘feel’ justified and doing the right thing, it makes no difference. There’s a better way. It’s below the standard I have for myself, and I regret it."

In the now-deleted post captured by USA Today, Johnson reportedly wrote, “He puts on the ‘costume’ of a hero, man bun and all. Used all of the trendy catchphrases & buzz words for his podcasts. None of it’s genuine. It’s all theater. And everyone fell for it. For years."

Addressing his behaviour further, Johnson added, “I do sincerely apologise to anyone I’ve hurt or let down by saying something that sounds mean. I’ll do better… We all have flaws, and I’m definitely a work in progress, doing my best to grow and be better."

This incident unfolds amid a heated legal dispute involving Baldoni and Lively. In December, Lively filed a lawsuit accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and launching a retaliatory smear campaign against her. Baldoni has denied the claims and countered with a $400 million lawsuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist, alleging defamation.

The public fallout has sparked widespread discussions across social media, with fans closely monitoring developments in the case. Both parties remain engaged in high-stakes legal proceedings.
