Mye Laurell eyes a ‘move’ on local charts
NEW YORK-based artiste Mye Laurell is optimistic her sexually charged track Move (Come On) will make inroads in the local market.
“The song is very sexy, and my friends loved it when they first heard it. Since its release, I am getting a lot of feedback on Twitter and Facebook. People are feeling it,” said Mye Laurell, whose in her early 30s.
The song, released late last year, is on the 007 Label and available digital.
“I spend hours writing songs and fine-tuning my sound in the studio, so I feel I am ready for the world. That’s why I am planning to move back to Jamaica,” she said.
Born in St Andrew, Mye Laurell attended St Andrew High for Girls before migrating to America where she pursued a career in nursing.
“A lot of people make bad jokes that my surname is Nurse, so it was only natural that I pursued nursing as an occupation. It was never planned, it sorta just happened,” she said.
Other songs include Wanting You remix with Delly Ranx, Sexy Rock, Be Stronger and Lonely Times.
“I hope I can, along with the other females in the industry, elevate reggae-dancehall to the next level,” she said.
