Google has rolled out a significant feature to its AI model called Gemini Live, which is a real-time AI assistant with camera and screen sharing capabilities. The new update allows users to point their phone’s camera at the objects around them and ask questions in real time. To use the new Gemini Live feature you need the latest Pixel 9 phones (including the 9 Pro Fold) or the Samsung Galaxy S25 models.

The free update will also be available on other Android devices soon, but you will need a paid Gemini Advanced plan to try out the new abilities on Gemini Live.

Google says you can allow Gemini to be your organisational partner and get real-time suggestions and visual support when cleaning. The screen sharing lets you get work done as the real-time camera can help you answer queries from the AI bot to share some creative ideas for designs, creative writing, or even crafts.

It goes further as Gemini Live’s camera input, can show what you’re viewing in real time and receive immediate feedback while working. Simply aim your camera toward the issue and ask Gemini to come up with a solution. These Gemini additions and Live access will be Apple’s envy which continues to struggle with Siri that is now further delayed till 2026, while Amazon’s Alexa AI version is yet to fully release even after its actual launch date in March.
