Was the TJ Oshie in the end. Though Russia were unlucky to have their 3rd goal disallowed upon review.

 

A lot of people miss real hockey in winter, but ice hockey is the best alternative you can manage when all the grass is frozen.

A large number of the USA hockey players where once Canadian. This conversation has already been had on this board. You're certainly snarky today.

 

The last hour had me in one after some reflection. :/

But purely just for the sake of good team USA fun. And after Vancouver I want us to win this time.

Two (Fowler & Statsny) out of twenty five were born in Canada, the rest were born in the USA. Neither has ever played pro hockey on a Canadian team

I meant hockey as a whole not just the Olympics. We have had more then 2 pro players from this small city alone go to the USA and one just retired but has come back home now.

 

Okay, but we have had US citizens playing in Canada for decades. Hockey is not exclusively a Canadian sport.

Just as baseball is not exclusive to the USA.

You should be proud of those two, they made it in the NHL.

Paul Stastny was born in Canada BECAUSE his father (Peter) A CZECH was playing for the Quebec Nordiques at the time. Luck of the draw. He REALLY grew up in NEW JERSEY.

Cam Fowler's dad is Canadian (although he is an American citizen now) and his mother is from the good old U.S.A.
Yes, Cam was born in Windsor (about three cat whiskers away from Detroit) and grew up (since he was about 1) in the U.S.

Can't you read or do you simply just not understand? I said I was talking the entire hockey and not the Olympics. We did the math a few years ago and listed all the NHL players that started out in Canada that were then later playing in the USA and the number was more then half. Let me check with my hockey guy friends and get the actual current statistics. I am sure you can do that too though easier then me since you watch hockey more then me.

 

I can read, but I guess I (like everyone else) misunderstood what you meant----since the thread is about THE OLYMPICS and you say (quoted above) "A large number of the USA hockey players were once Canadian".

In a thread about THE OLYMPICS "USA hockey players" certainly implies the USA Olympic Team.

If your intention was to shift the purpose of the thread, it would have been clearer if you had said "Aside from the USA Olympic Team, most players on NHL teams are actually from Canada" or somesuch.

I apologize for not instinctively knowing that you were talking about something else.
